Jayaram is a versatile actor in Malayalam and
Tamil Film industry. He is also a mimicry artist. He is one of the
reigning superstars in Malayalam cinema. He is quiet widely appreciated
by family audiences for his easiness in handling comedy; giving
plenty of super hit family comedy entertainers which had decent
comedy without any double meanings or crude comedy.
Jayaram Subramaniyam was born in a family of ‘Plakkad
Iyers’ in Perumbavoor, Kerala. While, he was studying from
Sri Sankara college,he won several awards in state level for mimicry
which gave way to the decision to make that special talent as his
profession. After college, he joined Kalabhavan, a well known professional
mimicry troupe where he was spotted by the noted Malayalam film
director, Padmarajan who gave Jayaram his launching pad with the
1988 film “Aparan”.

favourite actor—JAYARAM who was very kind enough to share

A program in TV going over 2 years duration itself is a huge achievement.
It’s very happy to know that Sensations has crossed almost
7 years and over. And it’s nearing 350th episode. It’s
a big achievement in the history of television programs. Its only
because of the amount of audiences watching this program made it
so successful. I have been lucky to come and be a part of Sensations
earlier as well. But even now I’m very happy that through
Sensations I got atleast sometime to spend with you people and with
all my regards and best wishes I thank you all….

WE ASKED, “Is Jayaram Fashion conscious?”
JAYARAM REPLIED,” No not at all, I’ve not even done
facial other than just heard of it.
WE ASKED,” Do you have beauty secret?”
JAYARAM REPLIED,” I don’t believe in artificial beauty.
Even in cinema, just during the time of shot I apply some make-up,
otherwise I don’t even touch this item called make-up. Even
when applied, I immediately rub it off. Other than that I’ve
seen in cinema several creams being used ; something in the night,
something in the morning, under eye cream etc. But I’ve never
used them. I’m not just boasting it off as a credit, but my
skin never needed such requirements.
WE ASKED,"What is your personal sense about fashion?
JAYARAM REPLIED,” I think I will be the only person who must
have worn "mundu" most in almost every movie I have acted
and still continue the trend. It is more over because of the character
which comes, in search of me. ie, I have been doing either a boy
next door, a villager or our neighbourhood personality images from
years. So along with that :mundu" is also my most favourite
clothing. Actually speaking other than inside Kerala when we go
out, we usually don't get an opportunity to wear "mundu"
and so dinterestingly we must wear pant and shirt or so on. Otherwise
wherever I go around the world I prefer wearing "mundu"
the most.
